Our Mission is to "Inspire Family Life In Our Colour City." A regional city for families to live, grow, work and play. A regional city where everyone feels welcome and safe. A regional city for healthy living where everyone thrives. A regional city where local pride is a priority. WHY LIVE LOVE ORANGE? Recent Census information shows the majority of our population is the 0-39 year old demographics. This means we have a big proportion of young families, young students, young professionals living in Orange, and there are more relocating as metropolitan areas become too crowded and costly. The recent years of COVID restrictions and lockdowns has shone a new light on the regional centres of NSW as viable places for more young people to live and work. But we have some gaps in the lifestyle facilities Orange has on offer to help these young families and professional couples to stay here and enjoy the local region. We don’t want our school leavers and young people moving away from Orange, to find employment or better lifestyle and recreation pursuits: We want them to know they can enjoy their own city. We don’t want young professionals who have made the move to Orange to have to go elsewhere on their weekends or holidays because of a lack of facilities here in town. Visitors numbers peaked during interstate and international travel restrictions, but have waned in recent months. Our attractions and venues are still challenged with staffing shortages and have limited opening hours, especially in the colder months when inclement weather forces people indoors. The focus on our city as a premier food and wine region to visitors has seen many of our cellar doors develop attractive spaces to cater for that market, but it has also highlighted the gaps in other facilities or attractions for visitors, families and locals alike. Our mission is to see both council-owned community facilities and local businesses provide more choice for visitors and residents across a wider range of recreational and lifestyle pursuits. LIVE, LOVE ORANGE! Team Greenhalgh acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work, live and play. We pay our respects to Wiradjuri Elders both past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
